Loulé will celebrate the World Tourism Day, which marks the 27th of September, with an exhibition on tourism in the municipality, a palm work workshop, guided tours of the city centre, a grocery store and street entertainment.
These initiatives, alluding to tourism in the Municipality, «intend to underline the importance of this activity for the local economic dynamism».
At 9 am, the exhibition «Loulé Municipality – From the beginnings of tourism to the present day» opens, which will be open to the public at the Loulé Municipal Market until 11 October. This show portrays some of the most memorable moments in tourism, from ancient times to our days. The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 15 pm.
At 9:30 am, the palm contracting workshop will begin, which will take place next to the Castle of Loulé, in the Historic Area of the city, with a duration of 3 hours. At 10:30 am, a guided tour will be promoted through the Historic Center of the city, which has a meeting point next to the City Hall building. From 11 am, the Folklore and Ethnographic Ranch of S. Sebastião will liven up the streets of Loulé, after opening the Autumn Market, which this year will have the theme “Recycling and Market of the Chest”. The event, which will run from 10 am to 16 pm, will “promote commerce and make known the work of artisans in the municipality”.
Throughout the day, regional sweets and liqueurs will be distributed at tourist offices in the Municipality as a way to welcome all tourists.
