They came from various points in the region, but also from Santiago do Cacém and Luanda, capital of Angola. 1150 elements from 25 scout guilds from the Algarve and from the two invited groups participated, between the 2nd and 7th of September, in the Regional Camping of the Algarve (Acareg) of the National Scout Corps (CNE), which took place in the valley of Almas, together to the airport of Faro.

This event, rare for its size (the last of its magnitude had taken place in 2007, in Barão de São João, Lagos) brought together, from the first day, Explorers or Moços (marine scouts), aged between 10 and 14, Pioneers or Sailors (seafarers), from 14 to 18 years old and Caminheiros or Companions (seafarers), aged between 18 and 22 years old. From September 4th, the lobitos, scouts aged between 6 and 10, joined the party.

Among the activities inherent to the camp (several constructions), activities outside the camp were also carried out, such as: raids; beach activities; visits to UAlg, and institutions in Faro.

On September 7th, the Eucharist was held in the field, presided over by the Bishop of Algarve, D. Manuel Quintas. Also present at Acareg was the National Chief of CNE Norberto Correia.
