From the 33th to the 6th of June, a total of 30 restaurants in the municipality of Lagoa will discover the rich and creative regional cuisine, in the first edition of the gastronomic itinerary “O Mar à Sua Mesa”, promoted by the Municipality of Lagoa.

Altogether, twelve restaurants participate in Ferragudo, ten in Carvoeiro, six in Lagoa, three in Porches and two in Estômbar.

In all of them, as the Câmara de Lagoa points out, you will be able to taste «the wide variety of dishes made with fresh fish and seafood, it can almost be said that they are products that “jump” out of the sea directly onto the grills or pans” .

“Dive in the Sea, that is, Bivalves from our coast, seaweed and salicornia”, “Wild Turbot, Roe, Mussel and Sea Flavors Sauce served with Cuttlefish Ink Risotto with Peas”, “Sardinha Albardada in Salad Bed with Vinagrete Sauce”, “Portuguese Mackerel Fillet Preserves”, “Algarvian Octopus with Sweet Potato”, “Algarvian Broad Beans with Fried Choco Strips”, “Mrs. da Rocha Octopus in Ripe Street Tomato and Sweet Potato” , “Xerém de Berbigão”, are some of the most daring gastronomic proposals, which go hand in hand with grilled, fried or albardada sardines, savory horse mackerel, cataplanas, and other more traditional foods. The difficult thing will be to choose.

This group of good food establishments will thus offer several delicacies to be tasted, prepared in their traditional way, but also with new presentations, with the aim of providing a memorable gastronomic experience, through an endless number of flavors to try and discover, made from the best the sea has to offer.

The local authority emphasizes that “there are hundreds of traditional dishes that have been the delight of those visiting the municipality of Lagoa, with the particularity that some restaurants are located – with the safety that the law requires and guarantees – along beaches or embedded in rocks and cliffs, places where visitors can feast on any traditional dish (or not), an invitation that is irrefutable for the ideal marriage between the beauties of the region and the traditional cuisine».

The Chamber adds that «Lagoa has some beaches with a blue flag, which guarantees quality that, on the other hand, cannot be removed from the others, where the safety of people and goods prevails and is a factor carefully studied by the tutelary and municipal services and by businessmen who make gastronomic tourism – but not only – their way of life, striving for the quality of the products served».

This initiative of the Câmara de Lagoa – which is part of the development and promotion program “Lagoa um Mar de Sentidos” – aims to “promote the quality and diversity of the local gastronomic offer, with a focus on seafood, promoting the traditional cuisine of the region. region in order to encourage the use of regional products and, at the same time, stimulate the business fabric of the municipality».
