The french Thierry Eliez, a pianist who has already composed for Charlez Aznavour or Johnny Hallyday, is now the star of the second day of the Lagoa Jazz Festival, in the amphitheater of Sítio das Fontes, near Estômbar (Lagoa).

With an arm of the Rio Arade as a backdrop, Thierry Eliez (piano, organ and voice) will be accompanied by Daniel Ouvrard (bass) and Philippe Eliez (drums).

The French pianist interpreted and recorded music for films with composers and arrangers Lalo Schifrin, Éric Serra or Michel Legrand.

As a pianist, organist, keyboardist, singer, composer, arranger and an excellent improviser, Thierry is a complete and versatile musician capable of playing or integrating projects in a wide variety of musical styles, from Brazilian music to jazz passing through “chanson française”, blues or progressive rock.

In jazz, he played with names like Didier Lockwood, Dee Dee Bridgewater, trio by Andre Ceccarelli or projects like Ultra Marine or The Syndicate.

In the French song, he worked with Charles Aznavour, Catherine Lara, Alain Chamfort, Patrick Bruel, Johnny Hallyday, Tout le Monde chante, Ceilin Poggi, among others.

But today there will still be entertainment with the band Dixieland in several places in the municipality of Lagoa, so if on one of these days you cross the streets with Diogo Picão (alto sax), Jean Marc Charmier (trumpet), Xavier Ribeiro (trombone), Diogo Costa (bass trombone) and Henry Sousa (percussion), don't be surprised: it's just an appetizer for good music nights at Sítio das Fontes.

The Parque Municipal das Fontes de Estômbar is open every day at 19 pm, since, in addition to the music festival (whose shows start at 00 pm), there is also the painting exhibition «Reflections of jazz», by Patico, as well as service bar, merchandising sales, and a Disco Fair.

After the concerts, next to the mill boiler and under the light of the moon and stars, the Espaço Lounge will be tonight and tomorrow, Saturday, animated by DJ Yacobian, who will present a selection of jazz from countries like Ethiopia, Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, South Africa, Spain, Portugal, Tunisia, Morocco, Ghana, among others.

The Lagoa Jazz Festival is a partnership between the Municipality of Lagoa and “Ao Vivo – Espectáculos e Eventos”, part of the annual program “Lagoa, um Mar de Sentidos”.

Tickets cost 8 euros per day or 20 euros for a three-day pass, and are on sale at the Convento de S. José and at the Auditório Municipal de Lagoa, and at the premises of Sítio das Fontes.
