The announcement for the contract to connect the Parish of Algoz/Tunes to the Albufeira, Lagoa and Silves Waste Water System, which will cost around two million euros, has already been published in Diário da República, announced the company Águas do Algarve SA.

«This value of about 2 million euros will add up to about 275.776. million euros already invested in the Algarve's Multi-municipal Sanitation System», stresses that company, in a press release.

With the completion of this investment, it will be possible to deactivate the current WWTP of Algoz, owned by the Municipality of Silves, infrastructure that has a "deficient level of treatment" of effluents and therefore presents "several violations of its discharge regulations, with serious resulting environmental problems'.

This investment will also make it possible to ensure the drainage of effluents generated by the existing population agglomerates between Algoz and Montes Raposos (including Vale de Margem), leading them to the EE8 Pumping Station (Montes Raposos) and thus integrated into the Albufeira Poente Wastewater System , being thus subjected to treatment at the WWTP in Albufeira Poente.
