A fire has been raging in an area of ​​forest in Alferce, in the municipality of Monchique, since 15 pm today, Friday. The fire is already being fought by about fifty firefighters, supported by 17 vehicles and two helicopters and has, for now, only one front.

According to what was found on the ground, the Sul Informação, the fire is in an area that is difficult to access, so that, for now, the fight is being carried out mainly by air. Field operatives are positioning themselves and prepared to stop the fire's progression.

According to the mayor of Monchique, the situation, for now, is not considered serious. Operations are being commanded by the 2nd Fire Brigade Commander of Monchique.
