Portimão will host, from May 9th to 11th, the European Grand Prix of Endurance Aquabike Portugal, which will constitute the first stage of the European Championship of the sport, whose second and final event will take place next September at Lake Pareloup, near the French city of Aveyron.

The format will be the same for both races of this European, open only for European titles in the GP1 and GP2 categories, with two three-hour heats for the personal watercraft, having been canceled the jet race in Portimão .

O paddock main will be installed in the riverside area of ​​Portimão, with confirmation of registration for runabouts (water scooters) starting on Friday 9th from 14 pm to 00 pm at the race secretariat, located at Clube Naval de Portimão, with the next day for the respective safety checks and the usual meeting of drivers scheduled for 19 am at the headquarters of the Clube Naval de Portimão.

After the preparations, on Saturday, May 10th, the departure will take place on the beach at Praia da Rocha at 14:30 pm towards Carvoeiro, returning to the direction of Praia do Vau, Praia da Rocha, Praia da Marina and Carvoeiro, in a total of 180 minutes of pure adrenaline, with refueling and change of drivers at Praia da Marina.

On Sunday, May 11th, the start for another 180 minutes of runabouts will take place at 10:00 am again in Praia da Rocha, but in the direction of Barra de Alvor, Praia do Vau, Praia da Rocha, Praia da Marina and again in the direction of Barra de Alvor, always with refueling and change of drivers at Praia da Marina , while the awards ceremony will take place at 15 pm at the Clube Naval de Portimão.

The riders will cover around 277 km each day, totaling 554 km.

Eight countries will be represented, some of which are national champions in the endurance modality, forming teams of two riders per bike.

This event, under the aegis of the UIM – Union Internationale de Motonautique, is jointly organized by the Promotora Livre – Associação Náutica Motorizada and the Municipality of Portimão, with the technical support of the Portuguese Federation of Motornautics and logistical support from the Clube Naval de Portimão and of Marina Portimão.
