The Chamber of Faro launched the public tender for the installation and operation of equipment in Parque Ribeirinho de Faro, work that is almost completed. The procedure “concerns a single concession, for 10 years, extendable for successive periods of 3 years, up to a maximum limit of 19”, but includes different spaces.
«Thus, the implantation of a Kiosk (Module C) is foreseen to be implanted at the entrance of the Ribeirinho Park, in the vicinity of the level crossing adjacent to the Municipal Theatre; a building for "Support Services" and a building for a "Kiosk/Bar" (Modules E and B, respectively) and an adjacent delimited area, with 1.600 square meters, corresponding to the multifunctional leisure area currently occupied by the driving school child', revealed the Chamber of Faro.
Interested parties can submit their proposals until 17 pm on June 19th. The spaces in the competition and the pieces it includes can be consulted on the municipality's website.
In addition to these spaces that will be granted by the municipality, "the Portuguese Agency for the Environment/Administration of the Hydrographic Region of the Algarve has already launched a tender for two catering facilities," as revealed by the Mayor of Faro Rogerio Cod, in an interview with Sul Informação and to the Algarv University Radioand in April.
The perspective of the Chamber of Faro is that the Parque Ribeirinho, a 16-hectare space for public enjoyment, is already fully operational this summer. «Cyccles, children's playgrounds, bird watching, an amphitheater, public toilets, as well as the necessary infrastructure to support the equipment of support to users of the park”, are the main features of this park.
«Walking with great strides towards the end of the work, Parque Ribeirinho projects a whole new way for the city to face its connection with the Ria Formosa – closer and more involved. In pursuit of this goal, the Municipality launches this procedure, seeking that the equipment that will be born there will contribute to the expected success: an environmentally correct park, with life, commerce, leisure and entertainment that was born from the transformation carried out in a space that was once marginalized and forgotten », added the municipality of Faro, in a press release.
The work of Parque Ribeirinho de Faro – 1st phase, promoted by Sociedade Polis Litoral Ria Formosa, SA, carried out within the scope of the Elaboration of Implementation Projects for the requalification of riverside spaces, public parks and pedestrian paths, which is part of a riverfront requalification strategy in Faro integrated in the Polis Litoral Program – Integrated Operations for the Rehabilitation and Enhancement of the Coastal Coast.
