Anyone who wants to know the Odelouca Dam or the Water Treatment Plants of Alcantarilha and Tavira and Waste Water of Almargem and Albufeira Poente just has to get in touch with the company Águas do Algarve and make an appointment.

Visits to water "factories" (Dams and Water Treatment Plants) and "sewage" (Waste Water Treatment Plants) have been "a constant in recent years", but now the company discloses the dates, locations and contacts to dial.

Thus, those who want to visit the Odelouca Dam can do so all year, subject to prior confirmation from Águas do Algarve (see contacts below).

A visit is scheduled for the Alcantarilha and Tavira Water Treatment Plants on May 28th and another on June 5th. There may also be other dates, subject to prior confirmation.

Regarding the Waste Water Treatment Plants in Almargem and Albufeira Poente, visits are scheduled for the second week of each month, from Tuesday to Friday.

In addition to visits to AdA's facilities, and within the scope of environmental education, company technicians also travel to schools in the region to hold workshops with students.

"The requests that come to us come from various entities, highlighting, however, schools in our region, universities from all regions of the country, associations, IPSS, national and international sector companies, public and private bodies," he explains Teresa Fernandes, spokesperson for Águas do Algarve.

«The dedication and importance we give to these visits is very high, and our main objective is to present to all our visitors, with due adaptation to the audiences involved, the entire meticulous process of treatment that is carried out in these places so that the product end is the one that is – Very good, always safeguarding the environment», he adds.

«Because all visits require dedication and timely planning, their correct organization is essential. For this reason, we want to make known to the general public the dates we have available for these visits, which must, however, always be confirmed in advance by Águas do Algarve», underlined Teresa Fernandes.
