This month, the Portimão Museum gained international prominence through the publication of an article in the newsletter of the “Committee for the Collections and Activities of Museums of Citie / CAMOC”, of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
The article “The Museum of Portimão, a new observatory and laboratory in town?” (The Portimão Museum, a new observatory and laboratory in the city?) summarizes the main lines of work developed by the Municipality's museological structure, since its opening in 2008.
CAMOC is an International Committee among the various existing within ICOM, which reflects on the Cities and the role of their museums in them.
