There are those who know him better for the song «Fungagá da Bicharada». But since he composed it and dedicated himself to singing it, a lot of water has flowed through the bridge of José Barata-Moura's life. He is the guest of another conference integrated in the “Horizontes do Futuro”, Cycle “Before and After for Tomorrow”, scheduled for March 27, Thursday, at 21 pm, at the Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho, in Loulé.

This speaker brings to this initiative the theme “How to break? The endrominations of the dominant ideology”, which will address the current world, the dominant ideological current and the impact on the crisis.

José Barata-Moura was born on June 26, 1948, in Lisbon. Portuguese philosopher, politician, professor and singer, he studied pre-university in France and obtained a licentiate (1970) and a doctorate (1980) in Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon.

Dean of the University of Lisbon, between 1998 and 2006, he has been a full professor at the respective Faculty of Arts, since 1986, where he was also chairman of the Board of Directors, from 1981 to 1982.

Member of several scientific societies, he was president of the Internationale Gesellschaft für dialektische Philosophie, from 1996 to 2000. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Portal Universia Portugal, since 2002. He was elected corresponding member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences (Class of Letters), in 2008.

In between, José Barata-Moura was also the composer and singer of some of the best-known Portuguese children's songs, such as «Fungagá da Bicharada» or «Joana Come a Papa».
