A crib entirely made of cork, with a designer design and developed by an Algarve craftsman, is the "weapon" that TASA – Técnicas Ancestralis, Soluções Atual will use to invest in the internationalization of this project, which aims to recover traditional Algarve crafts and knowledge .

TASA will participate in three international events, in France, Italy and Spain, on behalf of the Algarve, where it will present the “Sleep Tight” cradle, designed by architects Sofia Chinita and Karin Pereira and made by artisan António Luz.

A partnership between the company ProActive Tur, which recently joined TASA to help in the promotion and sale of products, and the company from São Brás de Alportel NovaCortiça, guarantees the continuity of production in this cradle.

«NovaCortiça believed in this project, offered the necessary raw material for the execution of the prototype and will be the manufacturing company to use in the commercialization phase of the part. The cork cradle competes among the five classified worldwide for the “Green Furniture Award” and the project will be presented at Milan Design Week», revealed TASA, in a press release.

The representatives of the Algarve project are already heading in the next few days to Shapes Design Week in Marseille, France, taking place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of April. «There will follow two more fairs in Italy and Spain, where it will be possible to project internationally the Algarve's ancestral knowledge at the service of design», describe those responsible for the project.

The project of the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission will be at these events, addressed to nine SMEs in the Mediterranean, as the representative of the Algarve region in the project «Sha.pes – Sharing prior excellence and support for the MED creative asset».

«Sha.pes» is financed by the MED Program and its general objective is to capitalize on tools, experiences, models and results of previous projects linked to innovation, creativity and governance. The CRIA of the University of Algarve is the partner entity of this project at a regional level.

«Participating in these fairs and events, as well as a commercial action aimed at stores across borders, is part of the internationalization strategy assumed by the TASA Project and its desire to export handicrafts that combine Algarve tradition with innovation in the proposed solutions», illustrate the responsible for TASA.
