The « Querença Project » was chosen as a case study by the international organization «LEAD», for the training program that this entity will promote in April 2014.

The organization already had promoted a training action in Querença, in the municipality of Loulé, in 2012, and he returns to the Algarve again to complete a new training program in the field, centered on the methodology developed by the «Projeto Querença» and on the relationship between the rural world and qualified young entrepreneurship.

«An international team of trainees and experienced monitors will be based in Querença for several days and will contact directly with the project's protagonists, partners, collaborators and friends, and develop specific work in various areas of knowledge and support for local development, revealed those responsible for the project. local development project.

«LEAD» was born in 1992, at the Rio Janeiro Conference, and has been a pioneer in the development of young leaders for sustainability in different parts of the world, bringing together creatives, social thinkers and visionaries from all sectors of civil society, from over 90 countries.

The «Projeto Querença» is a territorial intervention initiative that aims to contribute to the enhancement of natural and cultural resources in the Querença region, involving young entrepreneurs and creative people with ideas capable of energizing the territory and, at the same time, boosting job creation.

The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Loulé, the Union of Parishes of Querença, Tôr and Benafim and the company Proactivetur.

It has the main sponsorship of Caixa Geral de Depósitos and technical support from CCDR Algarve and CRIA – Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Division of the University of Algarve.
