The Judiciary Police's CID of Portimão announced today the arrest of a 45-year-old man, for the alleged practice of the crimes of urban arson, domestic violence and disturbance of private life.

The PJ reveals that, while the marriage lasted, the man "psychologically abused his wife", a situation that did not ease after the divorce, as he continued to pester her with "messages sent to her cell phone".

But this situation culminated on October 28, in Tunis, when the suspect set fire to the house where he had lived with his ex-wife, causing damage to the entire house. This was what eventually led to his arrest, which had the collaboration of GNR de Silves and Lousã.

Present at the first judicial interrogation, the judge decreed, as a coercive measure until the trial, the prohibition of the man to move and stay in the Algarve and to contact by any means the victim and his/her relatives.
