Lagoa created the Parish Support Office, an electoral promise of the new executive that goes towards opening “a new political cycle in Lagoa, of proximity to the citizens”. «The Parish Support Office, as an extension of the various areas of the executive, will develop a coordinated and combined action that allows for a better and more effective interpretation of laws and regulations, so that decisions are fairer and faster, since the The objective is to resolve and satisfy the petitions and interests of the citizens, in the shortest period of time», revealed the Câmara de Lagoa.
This new department, coordinated by Jorge Pardal, who served several terms as President of the Parish Council of Carvoeiro, will also “develop working methods capable of solving and/or solving some of the generalized and specific problems, such as those faced by Parishes, in the face of financial and logistical difficulties'.
According to the Câmara de Lagoa, «the president and the executive are strongly committed to a new form of open governance, as close as possible, that enables contact with citizens and, these, with those elected and responsible for both the Chamber and the Parishes. ».
“I will never make distinctions and I will be on the lookout for any outbreak of indifference or privilege, however minimal. I will do everything for my working group – from Councilors to employees – to act, in the street and not behind the desks, in search of facts and respective solutions, as if we were all a kind of Citizen's Ombudsman, because the problems, all and not just some, must be resolved immediately, if possible», defended Francisco Martins before the elections, a message that he now reaffirms.
«The Parish Support Office is already in full swing, promoting meetings with Parish executives, surveying situations that may deserve an immediate response and also studying the scheduling of joint work visits to Parish Unions and Councils, which will include, in addition to mayors, technicians from the various services of the Chamber», added the Lagoon municipality.
