University invites students who were left out of Superior to join Year Zero

The scores of the national exams for the 2nd phase of candidacy for Higher Education were released last week, to the delight of some and the disappointment of others.

An occasion that led the University of the Algarve (UAlg) to recall that, even those who have not managed to achieve the results they proposed, can join the institution, joining Year Zero, which takes place in 2013/14 for the second year.

This pedagogical offer of the Algarve university «it intends to respond to final year secondary school students who are unable to enter higher education courses in Engineering/Technology or Economics due to insufficient grades, and who need to repeat the exam in the compulsory subject(s) for access to Physics and Chemistry A and/or Mathematics A, in the next school year», revealed UAlg.

UAlg's Year Zero pre-registration runs until the 31st of August. Afterwards, there will be two application phases, the first from 9th to 16th of September and the second from 26th of September to 3rd of October.

In addition to providing the opportunity to have more in-depth training in key subjects for the courses they intend to attend, already in a university environment, Year Zero students have the opportunity to advance work and attend course units of the degrees they want to apply for, that count towards your curriculum if you enroll in an Engineering/Technology or Economics course at UAlg.

«It also makes it possible to recover the year of delay in entering the University, taking advantage of the regulatory possibility of enrolling in a greater number of curricular units in the remaining years of the course», revealed UAlg, in a press release.
