The Chamber emphasizes that, in accordance with national legislation, as well as with the Regulation on Solid Waste, Hygiene and Public Cleaning of the Municipality of Lagoa, «the responsibility for managing this type of waste rests with its owners, who must guarantee its destination end, regardless of whether the owners themselves or gardening companies are contracted to cut and transport this waste».

Improper disposal on public roads is punishable in accordance with the Regulation on Solid Waste, Hygiene and Public Cleaning of the Municipality of Lagoa, «applicable both to the owner of the place where the waste was removed, and, if applicable, to gardening companies who provided the service”.

Currently, the Municipality of Lagoa provides its citizens with a properly legalized Waste Disposal Center – Espaço Cerca da Lapa, where the waste in question can be transported and unloaded.

The Chamber recalls that, for Domestic Green Waste, discharges of up to 100 kilos are free.

Regarding the so-called “Monsters” and in quantities of up to one cubic meter in volume, the Municipality also has a free home collection service, for which you just need to contact the Waste Line 808 202 283.

"In the sense of protecting the environment, we advise you never to put your waste on the public road and next to containers, using the solutions provided by the Municipality", he adds.

"The Municipal Inspection Services are vigilant in the face of undue disposal of waste, with a special focus on offenses considered to be repeat offenders."
