There are still many months before the municipal elections, but in Faro, the split between the two traditionally most voted parties, the PSD and the PS, has already begun.

Both parties chose this Friday to make the public presentation of their candidates, with less than three hours to separate both initiatives.

The PSD was the first to schedule the presentation of the candidacy, which is headed by Rogério Bacalhau. Since about two weeks ago, the presentation of the current vice-president of the Chamber of Faro was scheduled for 18:30 pm today, at the Café/restaurant «O Castelo», in Vila-Adentro de Faro.

Last week, it was the PS's turn to put forward the date for the official (and expanded) presentation of Paulo Neves, which will be attended by the secretary general of the Socialist Party António José Seguro. The session is scheduled for 21:30 pm, at the Municipal Market of Faro.

Coincidence or not, this convergence of dates for the public presentation of PS and PSD candidates promises a hot journey until the October elections, as happened, moreover, in 2009, when Macário Correia and José Apolinário shared the leading role at the polls , being separated by just over a hundred votes.
