Miguel Praia will compete in the Brazilian championship «Moto 1000 GP» in 2013, after having accepted the sporting challenge proposed by the «Center Moto Racing Team» and by the organization of the race, which emerged after the victory of the Algarve rider in the 500 Miles Brasil in Superbikes .
The Portuguese Honda ambassador is thus the team's bet to win the Brazilian championship «Moto 1000 GP», organized by a well-known name to the Portuguese public, Gilson Scudeler.
“It's a huge responsibility because Brazil is one of the biggest markets for Honda, which defines right from the start the objective of winning. The Center Moto Racing Team treated me very well in the 500 Miles, showing professionalism and attitude, and that was fundamental in my decision», explained Miguel Praia.
“Gilson was a reference when I took my first steps on the bikes and I confess that I was impressed by the professional structure he managed to put on his feet. I hope that my participation will be a 'bridge' between the two countries and I would very much like the last stage of the 'Moto 1000 GP' to be disputed in Portimão», concluded the Portuguese rider.
The championship «Moto 1000 GP» will have the status of Brazilian Championship in 2013 and will feature eight races, broadcast live on TV by «Band Sports». The first race is scheduled for April 21 at the Interlagos circuit in São Paulo.
For Gilson Scudeler, “it will be a great pleasure to have Miguel Praia in the Moto 1000 GP championship. I have been following him and he has done a great job in recent years, on and off the tracks as an ambassador for motorcycles and large companies in Portugal, which has contributed to important achievements for the image of the country and for National Speed, providing new riders with the opportunity to to internationalize. I hope that with his participation in Brazil, he can have the same success I had when I was in Portugal, in addition to contributing to the evolution of the level of national pilots».
The Center Moto Racing Team stressed, in turn, that it is «an honor to have the talent and experience of a rider with an international curriculum like Miguel Praia, as well as the support of a company like Honda, a reference in the world of Speed. These partnerships only corroborate the serious work and investment that has been made for two years. Our objective for 2013 is to win at least two national titles in the four categories disputed, and to make the Center Moto Racing Team the main Brazilian speed team. However, none of this would be possible without the support of our main sponsors: Idea Nutrition, Ipiranga Lubrificantes and Caio Induscar; that has been with us since the beginning».
The Honda CBR 1000RR de Praia will be prepared within the structure of the «Center Moto» in Rio de Janeiro, which has the commitment of the team's general director, Henrique Krausse, and the pilot and trainer Alex Pires. It will be «the whole structure to make a winning motorcycle».
"We also have the company T&D Consultoria in this project, which is sparing no efforts to publicize and promote the Center Moto Racing Team team, consolidating it as one of the most important teams in Brazil," added the team.

Alex Barros' initiative, with the Copa Brasil de Speed project, had as main objectives the development and professionalization of Brazilian drivers and a positive promotional scenario for the brands and companies involved.
In favor of the evolution and consolidation of speed in Brazil, the seven-time Brazilian champion Gilson Scudeler arrived, thus becoming part of the project.
In 2013, the Moto 1000 GP will have five titles up for grabs. The novelty is the new GPR 250 base category, which joins the four existing in 2012 – the GP 600, GP Light, GP 1000 and its GP Master subdivision.
Proving that it is a national competition and doing justice to its homologation as the Brazilian Speed Championship, the Moto 1000 GP will have its races spread over six Brazilian race tracks.
São Paulo, home to most of the participating teams, will be the only city to host more than one stage – there will be three events at the Interlagos racetrack.
The other five stages will be distributed between the tracks of Curitiba (PR), Brasília (DF), Cascavel (PR), Santa Cruz do Sul (RS) and Goiânia (GO), the latter being unprecedented on the calendar.
