The National Work of Pastoral do Turismo (ONPT) will be present at the 2013 edition of BTL – International Tourism Fair, which takes place between February 27th and March 3rd.

Its exhibitor will be visited, during the inauguration of the event (February 27, at 10:00 am), by D. Jorge Ortiga, Archbishop of Braga and president of the Episcopal Commission for Social Pastoral and Human Mobility, the commission that oversees the ONPT.

This will be the first time that the Portuguese Catholic Church will be represented at the most important tourism fair in the country, «seeking to make known to professionals in the sector and the general public its concern regarding this topic and the work developed in order to show that tourism also makes it possible to show/know the beauty of God».

In the ONPT space, visitors can find various information materials, including a film and leaflets that refer to the actions developed by the Catholic Church in the sphere of Tourism, Heritage and Culture.

They will also be able to access information about the National Secretariat for the Cultural Heritage of the Church, the Association of Shrines of Portugal and the Commissariat of the Holy Land, institutions that will be represented in this space, as well as actions promoted by the various dioceses in the country.

Among the cultural activities prepared by ONPT to take place during the BTL, there is the concert by the Chamber Choir of the Sanctuary of Fátima, which will take place on March 1, at 20:30.

Entrance times and prices can be found on the official website of BTL, at http://www.btl.fil.pt/.
