The end of January and the next month of February will be marked by a strong commitment to the Educational Service, at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro. In addition to the return of the Promenade Concerts, next weekend, and staged visits to the Municipal Theater of Faro (TMF), the program features the ballet "A Bela Adormecida".

Next Sunday, at 12 noon, the Orquestra do Algarve (OA), directed by conductor Jan Wierbza, will present (or remember) the work «O Lago dos Swans», by Tchaikovsky. Promenade Concerts are open to ages 3 and up and the idea is that they can be enjoyed with the family.

On February 17th, OA will once again stage a new Promenade Concert, this time dedicated to Stravinsky's "A História do Soldado", directed by a conductor yet to be appointed.

Tickets for these concerts cost 10 euros for the general public, with discounts of 25 percent for those over 65 and 30 percent for TMF friends. Children under 30 pay 5 euros.

On February 20, a Wednesday, the doors of Teatro das Figuras are opened to the school public, in the initiative «Visitas Encenadas: Atrás do Pano III». The sessions are scheduled for 10 am, 11:15 am and 14:30 pm.

In this initiative, young visitors will be able to get to know the backstage of the concert hall, learn about how it works and watch the play «Os Cantos Confidencial» (The Confidential Songs). The price is 6 euros, with teachers and companions entering for free.

The February program ends on the 24th, with the ballet «Sleeping Beauty», by the Russian Classical Ballet. In this case, tickets cost 28 euros for the 1st audience and 25 euros for the 2nd, with 10% discounts for people over 65 and under 16 years of age.
