University of Algarve returns to host National University Chess Championship

Some of the best chess players from Portuguese universities will join in Faro next Friday to participate in the National University Championship of Fast Chess (Single and Mixed), which will take place at the University of Algarve for the second consecutive year.

The competition will take place in the multipurpose hall of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve (AAUALG), in the building of the Instituto Superior de Engenharia, on the Penha Campus of the University of Algarve.

The host academy will have several students defending their colors, namely with José Paulino from the Masters course in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology, with Tiago Brito from the Business Management course and with Guilherme Portada from the Economics course.

The competition will have the participation of 35 students representing various national higher education institutions, such as the University of Porto, University of Lisbon, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, University of Aveiro, University of Minho and University of Algarve.

This is the second national university organization of the AAUAlg this academic year, through its Sports Office in partnership with the Academic Federation of University Sports and has the support of the Algarve Chess Academy.
