Next Friday, December 14th, at 18 pm, the Nuts Nuts Museological Center in Loulé will host the “Natal Slow” workshop, another slow food session dedicated to this Christmas season. This initiative, organized by the Slow Food Algarve Association and Loulé City Council, will count on the participation of Slow Cabanita “Education of Taste”.

This workshop will be divided into three moments: initially there will be a small conversation/dissertation on the topic, in a multicultural approach; a small gastronomic demonstration follows and, finally, participants will be able to taste some Christmas delicacies.

Admission is free.

Slow Food is an international non-profit association, founded in 1989, in response to the standardizing effects of fast food, the disappearance of regional culinary traditions, and people's waning interest in food. It is also the objective of the program to alert to the fact that our food choices, the products we use and their origin, can affect our health and that of the planet.

Slow Food follows the concept of ecogastronomy, combining pleasure and balanced eating with awareness and responsibility, recognizing the strong connections between the dish and the planet.

Slow Food Algarve, within the scope of the Education of Taste Program of the International Slowfood Education Network, proposed a partnership with the Padre JC Cabanita Schools Group, from Loulé. The proposal was accepted and, under the coordination of teacher Otília Eusébio, a teacher at the school and leader of Slow Food Algarve, the project is being implemented, involving students and teachers from various cycles. Slow Food's school programs range from teacher training and curriculum collaboration, to improving school meals and organizing extracurricular activities.
