The Friends' Choir of the Museu do Trajo de São Brás de Alportel will give a Christmas Concert at the Igreja Matriz in São Brás on Sunday at 16 pm. Admission is free and there will be a fundraiser at the end for those who want to contribute.

The show will be composed, for the most part, of classical, madrigal and also folk music in several European languages. The Museum's Friends Choir presents a repertoire consisting of great names in music William Boyce, Edgar Pettman, Michael Praetorius, Johann Bach, John Rutter, and Carol, RS Willis, among others.

After acting in the Igreja Matriz, the Coro dos Amigos do Museu (Museum Friends Choir) presents the same show again, on December 22, at 19 pm, at the Museu do Trajo de São Brás de Alportel.

Formed in 2006, the Museum's Friends Choir has been gaining more and more elements, currently with more than 4 dozen choirists of different nationalities, including German, Scottish, Dutch, English, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish and Swiss. “Due to the provenance of its elements, it sings sacred and profane music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Romanticism and Contemporary, as well as Portuguese Popular Music, in several European languages.”

The Choir is under the guidance of maestro Walter Sulzer, trained in sacred music and organ. This experienced conductor was for 15 years organist and conductor of a church choir in Germany, later performing the role of music teacher at the German School of Alexandria, Egypt, where he also formed a mixed choir.

After several professional experiences in several countries, Walter adopted São Brás de Alportel as his 2nd land and in 2006 formed the Coro dos Amigos do Museu, a multicultural group passionate about music.
