The II General Council of the EUROAAA Euroregion – Alentejo, Algarve, Andalusia, which focused mainly on the transfer of the presidency, from the Junta de Andalucia to the Regional Coordination and Development Commission of the Algarve, took place in Seville. CCDRA will remain in office until 2014.

This General Council also approved the Action Plan for Cross-Border Cooperation of EUROAAA – PACT A3.

The Council, chaired by the Consejera de Presidencia e Equality of the Autonomous Government of Andalusia, Susana Pacheco Díaz, had as participants from each of the other regions the president of CCDR Algarve David Santos, and Roberto Grilo, vice-president of CCDR Alentejo responsible for the portfolio of cooperation.

The Euroregion coordinators and members of the Secretariat also gathered at the event.

In addition to the transfer of the presidency, the Board was a moment to analyze the much work developed in recent years under the presidency of Andalusia by all its mentors and the presentation of the activities plan of the new direction, CCDR Algarve.

The highlight of this plan is the political and technical deepening of the issue of navigability of the Guadiana, the edition of supporting documentation and statistical and technical dissemination inherent to the work of the Euroregion, its dissemination and the reinforcement of its action, namely by carrying out a investor support guide.

The PACT-A3, which will shortly be made available for public consultation, as it is a key element in the Euroregion's strategy for taking advantage of community funds from Territorial Cohesion for Cross-Border Cooperation to be made available by the European Commission for the next period 2014-2020, was the object of a brief presentation of its general lines by its coordinator, Juan Requejo Liberal.
