Almargem promotes a weekend entirely dedicated to the Via Algarviana: on Saturday, September 22, the proposal is to tour the new connection from Marmelete to Aljezur, while on Sunday, the 23rd, there are two walks planned for the municipality of Lagos.

Activities have a maximum limit of 45 participants, are free and require prior registration.

Thus, on Saturday, the new Via Algarviana link between Marmelete and Aljezur will be covered, with a total of 18,6 kilometers and a medium degree of difficulty.

This activity has the support of the Municipality of Aljezur, with the meeting point scheduled for 9:00 am, next to the Church of Marmelete. It is «one of the most awaited connections», stresses the association Almargem.

On Sunday, September 23, «we will walk in the municipality of Lagos, with the support of the Câmara de Lagos».

In the morning, the walk is scheduled for the Mata do Barão de São João, with a total of 6,5 kilometers and meeting point at 9:00 am in the picnic park of Mata. This is followed by a free picnic lunch in the Mata do Barão de São João.

In the afternoon, the new connection from Bensafrim to the Lagos Railway Station will be covered, in a total of 10 kilometres.

This will be an excellent way to commemorate the European Mobility Week», in addition because all activities are free and include transport to the place of departure, provided by the two municipalities.
