Herdade dos Pimenteis Reserva 2010, in reds, and Cabrita Reserva 2010, in whites, were the Algarve wines awarded the Great Gold Medal in the fifth edition of the competition «The Best Wine of the Algarve», which took place on the 18th of August , under FATACIL, in Lagoa.

Four Gold Medals were also awarded in the reds to the wines «Monte do Além 2009, by Vinciane Marie J. Nieuwenhuys, Cabrita 2009, by José Manuel Cabrita, Foral de Albufeira 2009, by Quinta do Morgado da Torre, and Monte do Além Petit Verdot 2009, also by Vinciane Nieuwenhuys.

In whites, the gold medals were won by Tapada da Torre Reserva 2011, of Quinta do Morgado da Torre, Cabrita 2011, Herdade dos Pimenteis 2011 and Marquês dos Vales Grace Antão Vaz 2011, of Quinta dos Vales.

There was also a gold medal for a rosé wine, the Marquês dos Vales Selecta 2011, from Quinta dos Vales.

With regard to silver medals, two were awarded for reds (Lagos 2010, from the Única Cooperativa do Algarve, and Borges da Silva Colheita Selectada, from Luis Carlos Borges da Silva), and as many for whites (Marquês dos Vales Grace Viognier 2010 and Vida Nova Verdelho Viognier 2010, by Quinta do Cantor), and three in rosés (Marquês dos Vales Primeira Seleção 2011, Encostas de Odelouca 2011, by Patrick Agostini, and Vida Nova Syrah Aragonez 2011, by Adega do Cantor).
