When summer arrives, the normally peaceful Algarve turns into a place for crazy people. Everything is in a hurry and stress, even those on vacation (I should even say especially those on vacation).

But the worst thing for me is the noise. In summer there are parties and parties, with music blaring until late, assuming that, as it's summer and it's hot, no one likes peace and quiet, much less goes to bed before one in the morning. The case of Fatacil, in Lagoa, which has music blaring until 1:00 am, is just one example. But there are so many…

Even worse are the beach clubs. Everyone remembers, for sure, the problems that the infamous Sasha da Praia da Rocha had, for seriously disturbing the peace of his neighbors, especially those who live on the other side of the river, in Ferragudo. And then the noise wasn't just until 1 or 2 in the morning…it was until sunrise…Like it or not, the neighbors had a disco inside their house.

But if you think you learned something from these mistakes, you are wrong! Then there was the case of Manta Beach, which from the beginning raised complaints from residents and vacationers. And now it's the case of the famous “Tarologist” Maya's club, in Tavira, the Wonderful Beach Club.

A petition of 400 residents of Tavira was even handed over to the City Council, protesting against the nocturnal noise of the disco, where the music drags on until 6:00 in the morning. That's why the neighbors complain, no one sleeps!

The Algarve, as a tourist area, needs entertainment. But this type of beach clubs, set up in a tent without soundproofing, cannot be the solution.

These beach clubs are a bit nebulous business, giving a lot of money to make in a short time and just a few. Tourism, as a whole, adds little or nothing or even harms.

Municipalities that are so fond of licensing these temporary spaces should think twice before doing so! For the sake of its municipalities and the Algarve!
