Five Algarve swimmers – Elena Alarcon, António Raposo, José Faustino, Paulo Sousa and Wanda Gião – climbed to the highest place on the podium at the 14th National Summer Masters Championship, which took place last weekend.

Walter Emunds and Paulo Sousa were the swimmers with the most trips to the podium, five and six times, respectively.

The championship was attended by 18 swimmers from the Algarve, representing four clubs, CN Faro, CCDT Lagos, Portinado and O2 – Oxygen Portimão

O2 – Portimão, in its second year of participation, went from 34 points to 131 points in the final classification. He presented seven athletes, two2 more than the previous year and hopes to see his team strengthened for the 2012-2013 season.
