The Municipality of Olhão and the Municipal company Ambiolhão joined together to resolve a situation of “danger to public health” on Rua Drª. Paula Nogueira, allegedly caused by the dumping of waste by a drug addict.
According to a statement from the municipality, following complaints from residents, who warned of “the fact that a drug addict lives in a vacant house and dumps the waste in one of the garbage containers nearby, causing a very bad smell and a danger to health the two entities “immediately made every effort to remedy this situation”.
«In the cleaning area, as the photos show, the street was cleaned and disinfected and new containers were placed. In the social and human scope, the Social Action division of the Municipality is together with the responsible authorities to make every effort to find housing solutions in decent conditions, as well as the possibility of a detox treatment», revealed the municipality.
