The Municipality of Tavira today released a public thanks "to all those who fought against the flames and supported the victims", during the four days of fires that devastated a third of the Tavira county.
«These were moments of affliction, but also of bravery and solidarity», stresses the Municipality of Tavira, in its gratitude.
"Various human resources mobilized to face the desolate scenario that befell Tavira, for this reason the Municipality publicly expresses its gratitude to all those who fought against the flames and supported the victims."
And so, the Chamber begins by thanking "the Municipal Firefighters of Tavira, and all other corporations, who were present in the theater of operations." For them, "may be our good for the dedication and hard work shown during these long days."
"To the people who helped fight the flames, showing courage in defending their goods and a high spirit of mutual help, our thanks."
The municipality also thanks all the municipal services involved, leaders and technicians, who provide the necessary support to the population on the ground.
To all agents and institutions that make up the Municipal Civil Protection and «who were always present, developing their mission in order to minimize the risks inherent to the situation, we also present our recognition».
The Chamber also addresses "a special word to all those who voluntarily came to help us, the spirit of solidarity having surpassed all expectations."
Finally, he expresses "our word of appreciation to the local radio stations that have rigorously kept the population informed, with direct, interviews and regular news."
