The executive councilor from Faro and the main opposition party in the Algarve capital "open the door" to the extinction of parishes in the municipality in a document allegedly approved at the Chamber Meeting and which should be voted on at the Municipal Assembly taking place today, Friday, tonight , accused the movement «With Faro in the Heart» (CFC). The movement has a deputy in the AM of Faro and he promised that he will present proposals at the Municipal Assembly against extinction and for an opinion study among the population.
The movement led by the former mayor of Faro José Vitorino also says that he will blame Macário Correia and the PS if parishes in the municipality are extinct. This is because despite the "statements, public positions and other documents" against the extinction of parishes, the two parties with councilors elected in the Chamber of Faro approved the synthesis of a final opinion on the subject where “absolute No and No are not included, using ambiguous language”.
The CFC intends that the text that is submitted for approval by the municipal deputies be altered and become part of “an unequivocal pronouncement against the extinction of parishes in the municipality of Faro». But, they assured, until now "there have been no signs from the coalition that supports Eng. Macário Correia and the Socialist Party" that there is an opening to change the opinion.
