Portimão's potential as an excellent destination for the MICE market – Meetings Incentives Conferencing Exhibitions will be highlighted at the tenth edition of IMEX, one of the most important international business tourism fairs, which takes place in the German citizen of Frankfurt, between 22nd and May 24th.

Integrated in the Portugal pavilion, the representation will be in charge of ATP – Turismo de Portimão, which will promote in particular the Portimão Arena and the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, each with its unique characteristics for potential clients in the Meetings Industry segment.

Around 3.500 are expected at the event, recognized worldwide as one of the main fairs aimed at business tourism, hosted buyers from 60 countries, who will get to know the conditions and characteristics of Portimão Arena and the Autodromo to host events in this market, as well as the complementarity that Portimão has to offer.

Portimão aims to position itself as a destination with the largest capacity space in the Algarve for events indoor, linking it to the presentation of brands, incentives or meetings, with the municipality being prepared to receive all types of MI events and providing a very diversified offer in terms of complementary activities, capable of satisfying business tourists.

Through the municipal company Portimão Urbis, Portimão enters the MICE market with a new commercial dynamic, having a structure specifically dedicated to the management and exploitation of spaces for events, incentives, business meetings and congresses, as well as for the rental of communication supports for the municipality, with a wide range of suitable solutions to boost brands and companies.

With the seal "We offer you a city" (www.weofferyouacity.com), this new business area ranges from holding an event to a dinner on the beach with an attractive social program, the positioning of Portimão at IMEX'12 will promote this as a value-added destination where it is possible to carry out any “key action” in hand”, there being a complementarity of services and products.
