Primary schools and kindergartens in the municipality of Faro now have new technological equipment that allow them to perform better. All 1st cycle classrooms and kindergartens were equipped with interactive whiteboards and new computers.
In total, between September 2011 and the end of March 2012, 103 interactive whiteboards and 114 computers and monitors were installed with a total investment of 203.085,30 euros, part of the co-financed investment.
The schools in the county of Faro are now better prepared to "respond to the challenges of the future", stresses the Chamber of Faro.
“Due to the times we live in and the way of life of the current generation and perspectives for the future, it became necessary for the school to accompany this evolution. It is crucial to monitor new teaching methods and strategies supported by new technological tools, which is now possible with the availability of interactive whiteboards», adds the municipality.
These technologies associated with teaching allow for greater interaction in the learning process and are a stimulus for students who have a new, more visual, more fun and dynamic support that encourages active participation and the consequent increase in interest in the subjects. New equipment is used that involves the three senses: visual, auditory and touch.
Interactive whiteboards are a facilitating tool in the learning process and are already at the service of children in the municipality.
