Beach of Faro, Barrinha, beach of Farole doca are the places that, on the 24th of March, will be cleaned by volunteers, as part of the seventh edition of the ecological action «Cleaning the Ria Formosa», promoted by the Municipality of the Algarve capital.
This year, the action will take place in three intervention zones, from 9:00 am to 13:30 pm:
Intervention Zone 1 – Beach of Faro, bar and islets
Concentration: 9:00 am / Location: Nautical Center of Praia de Faro
Intervention Zone 2- City of Faro
Concentration: 9:30 am / Location: Dock – Clube Naval de Faro
Intervention Zone 3- Praia do Farol
Concentration: 10:00 am/ Location: Associação da Ilha do Farol
This event, which began in 2006, through the initiative «Operação Barrinha», promoted at the time by the Clube de Surf e Faro, has been growing and gaining a large dimension, with the active and willing participation of citizens and partners.
Proof of this are the approximately four dozen entities (public, schools, companies and associations) that have already joined this civic cause and will collect waste on March 24th.
The organization recommends that all citizens who want to participate, given the forecast of a sunny day, wear a hat and sunscreen. Gloves, comfortable clothes and shoes, water and lunch are also essential for this day.
