Singer Sheryl Crow and actors Michael Imperioli (“The Sopranos”) and Matthew Modine (“Too Big Too Fail”) are some of the celebrities with confirmed presence during the International Food Festival “Tribute to Claudia” takes place between the 12th and January 22, at Vila Joya, in Albufeira.

The event, which takes place for the sixth consecutive year, will also feature actor and comedian Mario Cantone (“Sex and the City”), Ricky Paull Goldin (“All My Children”) and Gretta Monahan (“The Rachael Ray”) Show").

Over ten nights, this space overlooking the sea will receive chefs from different countries, to present the most original signature menus, consisting of a minimum of seven dishes, appetizers, wines and digestives.

In addition to the dinners, events will be held in the afternoon, such as wine and liquor tastings, golf tournaments, theme parties with “after dinner parties”, and various workshops.

This year, in addition to the Michelin Stars, several movie stars with a passion for gastronomy and Portugal will be present, who will be accompanied by the international press in this discovery of national flavours.

Dieter Koschina, the Chef awarded two Michelin stars for his work at the Hotel Vila Joya restaurant, will receive 20 Michelin Chefs from destinations such as France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, UK, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, US, Canada.
The initiative, which is sponsored by the local authority, once again places Albufeira on the route of major international gastronomic events, favoring the excellence of its gastronomy and restaurants, which continue to attract thousands of tourists.

The Festival “Tribute to Claudia” was born in 2007 with the intention of honoring Claudia Jung and, at the same time, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Vila Joya. The success of the first edition resulted in the organization of a festival that is today a reference in the field of international cuisine.

Until 2011, Vila Joya was the only restaurant in Portugal to have two Michelin stars.

The “World Travel Awards” (WTA), considered the Oscars of tourism, distinguished this hotel in Praia da Galé five times with the award for Best Boutique Resort in the World, and five times with the award for Best Boutique Resort from Europe.

A novelty in this edition of the festival is that it will be possible for four people per night to dine at a table installed in the kitchen, watching the chefs work closely.

Each dinner costs 350 euros, all-inclusive, but there are packages with different prices that include stay, or passes for a day or a weekend.

The headliner of the festival is the famous French “vegetarian” chef Alain Passard, with three Michelin stars in his famous Parisian restaurant L'Arpège.

Also from the three-star Olympus, there are two German chefs, Joachim Wissler and Nils Henkel, the Dutchman Joanie Boer and the French based in the US Laurent Gras.
