The Center for Research in Arts and Communication (CIAC) and the Masters in Communication, Culture and Arts of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences are organizing, on December 12th and 13th, the International Seminar Television Studies: Brazil-Portugal dialogues.

The event, promoted by CIAC, in collaboration with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and Globo Universidade, aims to map what has been debated and published on television studies in Brazil and Portugal, as well as offering elements to propose a joint reflection and research agenda. Having as a starting point the exchange of experiences, the topics discussed address changes and trends in television studies in terms of models, channels, programming, audiences and the production of digital content.

This initiative had its first phase in October with the holding of a seminar at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. This meeting resulted in the publication of a book, with articles by Portuguese and Brazilian experts - Television studies: dialogues Brazil Portugal, organized by professors Gabriela Borges (UAlg) and João Freire Filho (UFRJ).

The seminar is open to the public.
