From the 14th to the 28th of November, the municipality of São Brás de Alportel will host a new set of information sessions, as part of the “Safe Residence” Project, designed to raise awareness among communities around 10 different sites in the municipality.
These sessions are developed within the scope of the “Security in the Community” program, an awareness program for the adoption of safe attitudes, an initiative of the National Republican Guard, with the support of the Parish Council and City Council of São Brás de Alportel.
The “Safe Home” project was created in response to the growing feeling of insecurity, with the objective of reducing the crime rate associated with the occurrence of several robberies from homes.
In this context, and always at 20 pm, the municipality of São Brás de Alportel hosts information sessions in the following places: on the 30th, at Escola EB nº14 in Almargens; on the 1th, at Escola EB nº15 in Vilarinhos; on the 1th, at Escola EB nº16 in Alportel; on the 1th, at Café Romão, on the São Romão farm; on the 17th, at the Corotelo Kindergarten; on the 18rd, at Escola EB nº23 in Mesquita; on the 1th, at the headquarters of Grupo Desportivo e Cultural de machados, on the Machados farm, on the 24th, at Quinta do Peral, on the Peral farm, and finally on the 25th, at the Mealhas Kindergarten.
These information sessions are especially aimed at the senior community, which is more vulnerable to these risk situations, as well as the entire population in general. During the sessions, various preventive measures will be addressed, such as always leaving the doors and windows securely closed, putting an eyeglass and a security chain on the door, not letting strangers into the house, always having emergency contacts at hand, among many other small security gestures that can make a difference and prevent fraud or theft.
The speakers will also allude to various situations recorded, in order to alert participants to various schemes of deception, the well-known “songs of the vicar” which, although simple, have proved effective.
This initiative, developed within the scope of the “Security in the Community” program, aims to provide more and better information to residents of São Brasenses and minimize the risk of robberies, for a “Safe Residence” day and night.
