In order to develop a joint promotion strategy, Desidério Silva was in Seville this week, where he met with Francisco Diaz Morrillo, provincial delegate for Tourism, Commerce and Sport. On the table were several possibilities for cooperation. The objective is to increase the range of promotion opportunities in that region of Spain.

At a meeting held last Tuesday, Desidério Silva presented several possibilities for collaboration, with a view to developing partnerships in the economic and sports areas.

With more than eight million inhabitants, Andalusia is one of the most populous regions in Spain. The Province of Seville brings together 105 municipalities, with a total of two million people.

In recent years, Albufeira has promoted a series of initiatives that have reinforced its presence in this region, with particular emphasis on the city of Seville. In 2010, the Municipality signed a Protocol for Collaboration with Tourism in Seville and has carried out various promotion actions there.

This contact "is part of the strategy to get closer to the Spanish market", highlighted the Municipality of Albufeira, adding that, just recently, "the municipality and APAL – Albufeira Promotion Agency – held a promotional roadshow throughout Galicia".

In addition to these two regions, Albufeira has been looking for new opportunities for promotion in Extremadura.

In the balance of the work meeting, Desidério Silva stated that "we are trying to extend our area of influence a little similar to what we have been doing with Galicia, where we work in partnership at local and regional level".

The mayor reinforced the idea that «these contacts allow us to have access to a set of benefits that help us to develop important opportunities for promotion».
