The exhibition « ROOTS », which is the visible result of the artistic residency that is now coming to an end, opens this Saturday, November 12th, at 21 pm, at the Creative Arts Laboratory (LAC), in Lagos.

For two weeks the artists A. Pedro Correia (Portugal), Abraão Vicente (Cape Verde), Fefe Talavera (Brazil), Isabel Lima (England) and Jorge Dias (Mozambique) worked on the theme of slavery through a contemporary vision and now they will show the result of that work.

The project, according to its promoters, aims to «create new routes and transcultural flows, through the reflection of the cultural diversity of formerly colonizing and colonized countries and their influences on the creation of a global and plural miscegenation, questioning and identifying the roots of this process» .

ROOTS can be followed on blog , where activities are monitored, from the exhibition, which can be seen until December 30th, to the cinema cycle, which will take place on November 24th, December 1st and 8th.
