Passenger traffic at the airport of Faro increased by 3,3% in September, compared to the same month last year, revealed ANA Aeroportos.

At national level, passenger traffic at ANA airports in September 2011 showed a growth of 6% compared to the same period last year, with emphasis on the growth of the traditional segment (+12,8%).

In terms of markets, the highlights were the growth in the United Kingdom, Spain and France. Positive highlight for the performances of Ryanair and TAP Portugal.

This growth trend was widespread in the airports managed by ANA on the continent. Thus, while Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (Porto) rose 10,6%, Lisbon Airport rose 6,4%, and that of Faro recorded 3,3% more.

At the Azores Airports managed by ANA, there was a slight decrease of 1,1%.

In accumulated terms, comparing the period from January to September 2011 with January to September 2010, commercial passenger traffic processed at the airports managed by ANA grew by 8,3%.

Also in the accumulated, the Airport of Faro registered the second highest growth, with 6,7% more, against 17,4% in Porto and 6,2% in Lisbon.

Also in the accumulated, the highlight goes to the growth of the traditional segment (+11,6%).

Beja Airport, on the other hand, and according to ANA data, received 181 passengers in September, for a total of 973 since the beginning of the year.

In terms of markets, there was growth in the United Kingdom, France and Spain.

TAP Portugal (37,2%), Ryanair (13,9%) and easyJet (12,4%) represent 63,5% of the accumulated traffic at ANA Airports.
