Judging by the adhesion of the first days, Portimão's Petisco Route is receiving great reception and many people have already accepted the challenge of discovering the best flavors of local gastronomy and sweets in 23 restaurants and eight patisseries, at anti- crisis.
This initiative of the Teia D'Impulsos Association, which has the support of the Municipality of Portimão and runs until 2 October, aims to encourage a tour of the city center and Praia da Rocha, tasting various menus based on local products. .
The price list is admittedly popular, as the “Snack” modality consists of a dish and a drink for 2,50 euros, while the “Regional Sweet” modality includes a dessert and drink, with a price of 2 euros, with some being always available. alternatives to the drink proposed on the menu of each establishment.
Some of the specialties on offer are the cockle porridge, the razor clam feijoada, the açorda with pirilau fillet or the roe salad, which can be accompanied by wines from the Portimão Wine Region and topped off by regionally-inspired sweets, examples of which the carob cake, the sweet dessert or the Dom Rodrigo.
Connoisseurs of good traditional food are therefore invited to snack at the various participating establishments, guided through a passport where the stops of the Route are identified, as well as the respective special menu, and on which a stamp will be affixed for each restaurant or patisserie frequented.
Everyone who travels at least 12 stops on the Route is entitled to double entry to the Museum of Portimão, while participants who collect a minimum of 24 stamps in their passport are entitled to a draw of ten visits and proof of wines for two at local wineries designated by the Algarve Wine Commission. In both cases, passports must be handed in at the Museum of Portimão reception by the end of the initiative.
Participation is open to everyone, and all that is required is to have the Rota Passport, available free of charge at participating locations, or by printing from the website www.teiadimpulsos.pt, where all information relating to the Portimão Petisco Route is disclosed.
