Three friends – Carlos Baptista, Fabio Mendinhos and Miguel Gonçalves – emergency medical technicians, from the National Institute of Medical Emergency, organized a convivial futsal tournament, aimed at raising funds for the firefighters of Alcantarilha.
The tournament, which started on August 16th and ends on September 10th.
At the end of the tournament, there will be a convivial dinner for the participants, which will be followed by a musical show, with the Algarve group Íris and the band Smet, from Faro, at Polidesportivo de Pêra, whose revenue will revert to the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Silves / Alcantarilha Section, which, according to the organizers, «is going through moments of crisis and support is extremely low, hence the intention to support this institution, thus guaranteeing the acquisition of new material for fighting urban fires».
As there is no space with conditions for the performance of the show in Alcantarilha, through the Pêra Party Committee and the Parish Council of Pêra, the show takes place at the Polidesportivo de Pêra.
The organizers of the tournament also set up a stall selling regional sweets to help the Associação Oncologica do Algarve, which plays a key role in supporting the fight against cancer. The Futsal tournament started on the 16th of August and ends on the 10th of September.
