Albufeira hosts, this weekend, two of the council's most traditional festivities: the Fisherman and São Vicente Festivals. Every year, thousands of people join in the celebrations, which culminate in an entertainment program at Praça dos Pescadores.

On Sunday, September 4, the city will immerse itself in a religious program that pays homage to Beato Vicente. The martyr is remembered in a celebration in tribute to his evangelizing work in eastern lands.

In addition to the exhibition on his life and work at the Museum of Sacred Art, the Igreja Matriz hosts a Solemn Mass, followed by the traditional procession through the streets of the city. Youth and children of the parish catechesis perform a theatrical performance in Largo de São Sebastião, in front of the Ermida, evoking the life of São Vicente.

This is an initiative of the Parish of Albufeira, with the collaboration of the City Council.

 Program:

10h – Sunday Mass at the Parish Church

10h – Exhibition on the life and work of S. Vicente, at the Museum of Sacred Art

17h – Solemn Mass in Honor of S. Vicente, at the Igreja Matriz

18h – Procession with live representation, at Largo de São Sebastião

22h – Show with Nightingale Faduncho, at Praça dos Pescadores
