Professional and amateur skaters from all over the country gathered in Faro last week, to compete in the 3rd stage of the DC Skate Challenge by Fuel TV. A decisive stage for João Santos, who managed to secure the title of National Amateur Skate Champion, when there is still a stage to finish the circuit.

Hélder Lima won the professional competition, followed by the youngest and oldest skaters in competition. Jorge Simões, aged 16, was second while the third position was guaranteed by Francisco Lopez, aged 34.

With one of the main contenders for the title Thaynan Costa missing the stage of Faro, as it is in a European competition, its most direct opponents took the opportunity to climb the general table. In this way, the champion will only be known in the last and fourth stage, with eight athletes in a position to win the title, something unprecedented in the history of this competition.

In amateurs, João Santos won the 3rd consecutive stage and is already champion. Attention is now turning to the remaining places on the podium, which in Faro were occupied by Gonçalo Vilardebó and Laurence Aragão, respectively.

In beginners, the victory was won by André Sela, in the only category where an Algarvian managed to secure a place on the podium. Jerome Marreiros, from Lagos, was third, after Diogo Martins.

The 3rd stage of the DC Skate Challenge by Fuel TV was also marked by bold and spectacular maneuvers, which gave a lot of headaches to the Red Bull Best Trick award jury, where the best maneuvers are awarded.

It ended up being a «nollie big spin heel backlip fakie» by Rúben Gamito to be officially awarded. But the athlete decided to call the podium Nuno Relógio, Luís Coutinho and Rúben Rodrigues, all authors of difficult maneuvers, with which he shared the prize of 100 euros.
