«September, Month of the Grape» reveals new timeless flavors by the hand of chef Manuel Brazão Pires, in another gastronomic demonstration at the Municipal Market of São Brás de Alportel, this Saturday, the 24th.
«Trained in cooking and pastry at the Algarve Hotel School just 4 years ago, Manuel Brazão Pires has already been present in several prestigious spaces and participated in important gastronomic competitions», states the São Brás de Alportel City Council in a press release.
For this 25-year-old young man, «kitchen is a universe» that seduces him, but he particularly likes Portuguese cuisine, because it is «very complete, full of aromas, colors, essences and flavors». The chef surrenders to the irresistible challenge of «rummaging through the recipe and giving it a contemporary touch, always preserving quality and traditions».
In a month of harvest, Manuel Pires proposes a tasty menu consisting of four original dishes that combine health, quality and refinement with Algarve wines. The gastronomic demonstration will start with a presentation of the soup «In hot and white beans, a rabbit is scalded», following the entry for «Shrimp tanned in the shade of an orange tree, in an Algarvean sunset", the main course "Horse mackerel, snuggles in a refreshing chemela» and dessert «On an almond-shaped morning, a fig tree and a carob tree are grafted…»
The Algarve tradition is, in this way, present in the typicality of the names, which is sautéed with the innovation and creativity of young São Brasense chefs who, month after month, invade the Municipal Market with irresistible flavors and aromas.
