Until June 2012, the Municipality of Silves will promote a thematic cycle, with six sessions, for parents of children of pre-school and school age (1st cycle). This action, which addresses various topics, will take place at the Algoz, Armação de Pêra and São Bartolomeu de Messines School Groups, starting on October 26, and aims to encourage the use of more effective parenting approaches.
«Given that the role of father or mother presents, on a daily basis, various challenges, this cycle aims to be a contribution to the knowledge, understanding and presentation of strategies to deal with the different stages of children's growth, focusing on the approach of areas such as child development, parenting educational styles, the importance of playing, new skills and motivation in children, attitudes to be taken and strategies for managing and controlling the common behavior problems of the little ones», advanced the municipality in a press release.
Participation in this cycle is limited to twenty participants per session and is subject to prior registration, which must be made up to seven days before the date of each session.
